ABCmouse Alphabet & Phonics Flashcards turn letters and sounds into early reading. One 86-card deck carries a child from naming letters to sounding out words: Level 1 letter cards build the alphabet and beginning sounds, Level 2 adds consonant blends and digraphs, and Level 3 covers vowel patterns and vowel teams. Practice keeps building instead of stalling after the ABCs.

Every card back has a built-in "hear the difference" exercise that drills the exact sound mix-ups new readers confuse, like short a versus short e. That is the heart of phonemic awareness and decoding.

Built for small hands and repeated use: thick 350gsm double-layer laminated cards with rounded corners in a rigid telescope gift box. Works on its own, no app or subscription required. An optional QR code bridges to the ABCmouse app when you want to extend practice on screen.

Best for ages 3 to 6, preschool through 1st grade. Level 1 builds letter names and sounds, Level 2 adds blends and digraphs, and Level 3 covers vowel patterns, so the deck keeps pace as your child grows from pre-reader to early reader.
Card size 3.5 x 5 in. 86 cards. 350gsm double-layer laminated cards with rounded corners in a rigid telescope gift box.

    Thoughtful learning progression

I like that the activities can start with naming letters and become more challenging with letter sounds and beginning-sound matching. It feels more intentional than a random deck of picture cards, and it gives us room to keep using the kit as skills improve.

    Good travel activity

We brought a small stack on a road trip and used them at restaurants and in the hotel. They are easy to carry, although a smaller travel pouch would be a useful addition.

    A hit with both kids

My children are two years apart, and both can use the kit in different ways. The younger one names letters and pictures while the older one practices letter sounds, beginning sounds, and sorting words by their first sound.

Better than drilling from a workbook

My son shuts down when a page looks like homework. With these cards, we can move around, sort letters and pictures, and make up little sound games. He is practicing alphabet and phonics skills with much less resistance.
