ABCmouse Word Reading Flashcards Level 3 take a child who can read short words and move them to the longer, multisyllabic words that show up in 1st and 2nd grade. Cards cover vowel teams, silent-e, syllable types, prefixes, and suffixes, so a child reads a word like "rebuild" or "colorful" in parts instead of letter by letter, then meets it in a decodable sentence.
Read long words in parts and decoding gets faster and more durable. Colored borders sort the deck by pattern tier, and colored underlines mark each word's syllables so a child can see how a word like "umbrella" breaks into beats.
